Multiple WHS students excel at Culinary Challenge event

Students in Bonnie Bents' Worthington High School Culture and Cuisine class competed last week at the Culinary Challenge at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
More than 200 students from area schools participated in the event. In addition to the competition, they also could tour the culinary department and learn more about the major offered at SMSU.
Multiple WHS students earned recognition. They included:
Kenadie Thiner and Karen Hser, first place in baking science; Brianna Morales, first place in cupcake decorating; Jose Chavez Vega, first place in table and napkin design; Fabiola Morales Soto, Kelly Diaz Roblero, Sandy Lagos and Alis Lo, first place in Culinary Competition and scholarship winners; Abileni Peneda, second place in cake decorating; Isaac Perez Perez, second place in fondant cake decorating; Alondra Miranda Hernandez and Keyli Ramirez Lopez, second place in menu design; Martin Gonzales Xon, second place in knife skills; Dennis Dominguez and Neils Garcia Escalante, third place in baking science; Tony Hernandez, third place in fondant cake decorating; and Suzanna Shwee, third place in food sculpture.
