The Worthington Trojans baseball team fell behind 6-0 early and ended up suffering a 12-2 five-inning setback at the hands of Waseca Tuesday at the Worthington Middle School field.

Waseca scored three runs on four hits in the first inning and did the same exact thing in the second inning. The Bluejays improved to 2-4 on the spring, while WHS is now 1-5.

The Trojans got both of their runs in the third, cutting the Waseca lead to 6-2 in the process. Christian Dailey walked to begin the inning and Dom Larson singled with one out. With two out, Dominic Pavelko hit a full-count pitch sharply to left to bring both of the Worthington baserunners home.

The Bluejays once again scored three runs on four hits in the fourth and added three in the fifth on two hits. WHS got two more hits in the fifth when Talen Turner and Pavelko both singled, but both were ultimately left stranded.

The Trojans next play on Thursday in Belle Plaine.
