Multiple Trojans earn Big South Conference gymnastics honors

Multiple members of the Worthington Trojans gymnastics team have received Big South All-Conference honors.


WHS competes in the conference's Black Division. Named to that team were sophomore Isabella Lazzu, junior Lucy Thier, eighth-grader Jada Milbrath, sophomore Brooklyn Dykstra and freshman Marley Phomsatry.


Jackson County Central, which competes in the Gold Division of the conference, had three individuals earn honors — senior Clara Brinks, junior Braelyn Boogerd and eighth-grader Lily Brinkman. Luverne also had three gymnasts honored — senior Kianna Winter, freshman Emma Cowell and eighth-grader Marrs Thone.

In the Section 3A South girls basketball semifinals Tuesday night, there will be back-to-back games in the Worthington High School gym as top-seeded Hills-Beaver Creek takes on No. 5 Westbrook-Walnut Grove at 5:45 p.m. and second-seeded Adrian-Ellsworth faces No. 3 Murray County Central at 7:30 pm.


In the Section 3AA South girls basketball semifinals Tuesday night, Jackson County Central will host a doubleheader. It will be top-seeded Fairmont against No. 5 Luverne at 5:45 p.m., followed by No. 2 Pipestone Area taking on third-seeded St. James at 7:30 p.m.


The Section 3AA South final will be Thursday night in Worthington; the Section 3A South final will be Friday night at WHS.
