Multiple injuries reported in crash involving Chandler woman

Nine people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Redwood County.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2015 GMC Acadia operated by Kristi Marie Huge, 47, of Chandler was northbound on Redwood County 10 and a 2017 Jeep Cherokee operated by Kristi Lynn Downing, 36, of Minneota was westbound on Minnesota 68 when they collided in the intersection. The crash was reported at 2:21 p.m. Sunday.


Huge and six passengers in her vehicle were all taken to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Her passengers were identified as: Tyler Wayne Bahr, 21, of Beresford, S.D.; Taylor Marie Bitker, 21, of Beresford; a 5-year-old juvenile female; a 17-year-old juvenile female; a 15-year juvenile female from Chandler; and Samantha Jane Huge, 18, of Chandler.


Downing and her passenger, Cody Gregory Doose, 26, of Minneota, were taken to Sanford Tracy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. 


The Redwood County Sheriff's Office, Lucan Fire Department, Lucan First Responders and Wabasso, Walnut Grove, Tracy, Centra Care and North Ambulances assisted at the scene.
