The Worthington Wastewater Treatment plant recorded a total of 1.12 inches of rain between early Tuesday and Wednesday.
A total of .31 inches of rain was measured at the plant at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, and .81 inches more was recorded at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Severe thunderstorms and the threat for possible tornadoes were prevalent Tuesday afternoon and prompted the issuance of tornado warnings in the region, including Worthington, which saw its warning expire at 4:15 p.m. without any report of a touchdown. In northwest Iowa, Dickinson County had a tornado warning expire at 4:30 p.m.; there were no reports of any touchdowns there, either.
