MANKATO –- The Minnesota Department of Transportation continues to closely monitor state highways in south central and the southwest corner of Minnesota due to flooding caused by recent heavy rains.
MnDOT opened Minnesota 15 north of Madelia, and Minnesota 62 east of Fulda (near Talcot Lake) today; however, Minnesota 62 is now closed east of Cottonwood County 18 (due to the Minnesota 62/60 closure in Windom).
U.S. 169 from Mankato to St. Peter is planned to reopen (with lane restrictions) on Thursday, June 27 by 5 p.m., weather permitting.
We continue to implement flood mitigation efforts in attempt to reopen state highways to traffic as soon as it’s safe to do so. Motorists should check www.511mn.org for current information and follow posted detour routes.

Lane closures on northbound and southbound U.S. 169/Minnesota93 near Le Sueur (June 25)
U.S. 169 from Le Sueur to St. Peter, and U.S. 169 from Minnesota 99 west of St. Peter to Mankato is closed. Traffic from Mankato to Le Sueur is detoured to County Roads 8, 20, 5 (Old Fort Road) and 40, Minnesota 99, Nicollet County 13, and U.S. 14. People wanting to go into St. Peter may exit at either Broadway Avenue or on Minnesota 99 south of St. Peter. (June 25)
Minnesota 60 in Windom. Traffic is temporarily detoured. Check www.511mn.org for detour route. (closed June 24)
Minnesota 62 in Windom. Traffic is detoured to Sixth Ave. South and Minnesota 60. (closed June 24)
Minnesota 22 south of St. Peter to Kasota. Traffic may use the U.S. 169 detour, Minnesota 99 (south of St. Peter), Nicollet County 13 and U.S. 14. (closed June 24)
U.S. 169/Minnesota 60 - all entrance and exit ramps to the Lookout Drive/Center Street area in North Mankato are closed (June 24)
Minnesota 99, near the Minnesota River bridge, east of St. Peter – bridge and highway are closed. Traffic is detoured to Minnesota 99 west of St. Peter, County Road 13, U.S. 14, Minnesota 22 and Le Sueur County 21 (Golf Course Road).
U.S. 71 in Jackson. Traffic is detoured to Interstate 90, Minnesota 86, and Jackson County 34. (closed June 22)
Minnesota 22 south of Kasota. Water on the shoulder. (June 22)
Minnesota 93, between U.S. 169 and Le Sueur. Motorists should use alternate routes. (closed June 22).
Minnesota 60 north of Heron Lake to Worthington. Traffic detoured to I-90 and Minnesota 86. (closed June 22)
Minnesota 13 in Waterville. Open to local traffic only; expect delays. Turn lane restrictions (June 21)
Minnesota 19 east of Henderson. Traffic detoured to Minnesota 19 west of Henderson, Sibley County 17 (391st Avenue), Sibley County 8 (336th Street), and U.S. 169. (closed June 19)
Minnesota 62 near Cottonwood County 18. Traffic is detoured to Wilder via County Roads 18, 13, 86, Maple Street, Fifth Ave.nue, Pine Street, and Minnesota 60.

The detour for the entrance ramp closure at U.S. 169 to eastbound I-90 near Blue Earth has been routed back to Faribault County 16 and 17.
Minnesota 22 in Mankato near Bassett Drive. Turn lane restrictions removed.
Minnesota 4 north of St. James. (Note that Minnesota 4 south of Sleepy Eye is closed due to construction)
Minnesota 30 east of Westbrook.
U.S. 59, north of Worthington. Lane restrictions removed from multiple locations.
U.S. 75 near Hardwick. Lane restrictions removed.
U.S. 75, south of Luverne to the Iowa border.
Minnesota 91, north of Adrian
Minnesota 86 (two miles south of I-90). Lane restriction removed.

MnDOT crews will continue to monitor flooded highways and bridges and open them as soon as it is safe to do so. Highways and bridges impacted by floods need to be inspected for damage and safety prior to opening.
When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
