MnDOT hosting Minnesota 60 meeting June 4 in Windom

The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an open house for the Minnesota 60 Windom project from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 at the Windom Community Center, 1750 Cottonwood Lake Drive.

During the open house-style meeting, attendees can learn more about plans for 2025 construction, as well as the proposed restriping of four to three lanes. There is no formal presentation, and people are welcome to arrive at any time. Following the open house, there will be a public hearing on the project during the Windom City Council meeting starting at 6:30 p.m.

In 2025, MnDOT will replace the signals and make Americans with Disabilities upgrades at the Minnesota 60 intersections with Sixth Street and 10th Street in Windom. MnDOT is also proposing to restripe a three-lane configuration as a pilot for community demonstration, consisting of one through lane in each direction and a center left turn lane. The pilot is based on a preferred option from the 2019-2021 Highway 60 Windom Corridor Study, with a goal of improving safety and traffic flow while maintaining business access through the city.
