Minnesota West students earn Elite Team recognition

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference has announced its Spring 2024 MCAC Elite Team.

The award recognizes student-athletes who combined outstanding academic and athletic performance through the spring 2024 season. Honorees must have earned MCAC All-Academic honors as well as All-Division, All-Conference, All-Region and/or All-American honors in men's basketball, women's basketball, wrestling, golf. baseball or softball. A total of 118 student-athletes earned this recognition.

Receiving recognition from Minnesota West Community & Technical College were: Daniel Castro-Romero of Cartagena, Colombia, baseball; Triston Sauerbrei of Worthington, baseball; Fernando Marte-Santana of Springfield, baseball; Joe Zhu of Nanjing, China, baseball; Olivia Hayenga of Worthington, women's basketball; Hattie DeVries of Roseville, women's basketball; Audrey Drapeau of Fort Thompson, S.D., women's basketball; Keytin Elser of Sibley, Iowa, softball; Alaina Wingate of Sibley, Iowa, softball; and Makenzie Allen of Baltic, S.D., softball.
