Minnesota West gets volleyball, soccer wins over Riverland

Minnesota West earned a 3-0 sweep over visiting Riverland in Wednesday night volleyball action by game scores of 25-11, 25-8, 28-26.
The Lady Jays went up 4-3 in the first game, then tallied 11 points with Lydia Moore in the serving spot. Moore eventually closed out the game with an ace.
In game two, Minnesota West led 6-3 before embarking on another run of points. Plenty of Lady Jay reserves saw the court in game three, and Minnesota West trailed 6-0 early before ultimately netting the come-from-behind win.
Sadie Krahling led the way offensively with 10 kills. Kadyn Paulson had a team-best 14 digs, and Moore was a perfect 16-for-16 serving with four aces. Myah Dausel was 16-of-17 serving with three aces while adding 10 digs.
Third-ranked Minnesota West plays at Anoka-Ramsey on Saturday.

The Minnesota West men's soccer team played its first home soccer match in a month and edged Riverland 4-3 behind three goals from Dario Neves. The Bluejays improved to 2-5-1 with the victory; they'll play at Alexandria Tech on Saturday.

The Section 2AA girls tennis tournament begins Monday, and Worthington is the No. 8 seed. The Trojans will play at No. 1 Mankato East at 4 p.m. Monday. The tounament continues on Friday.
