Worthington High School's 2026-2027 exchange student to Crailsheim, Germany was announced Tuesday night during a program at the Nobles County Heritage Center.
Mikeayla Engidaw is a WHS sophomore and will represent the city as the next exchange student to Crailsheim. She was one of three applicants to Worthington-Crailsheim International Inc., with the others being WHS sophomore Damian Mayefske and WHS freshman Delilah Stringfellow.
Worthington's sister city relationship with Crailsheim dates back to 1947 and began as a post- World War II relief effort. Crailsheim was chosen because it was close in size and structure to Worthington. Tons of clothing and donated items arrived in Crailsheim, which was 70% bombed. Pen-pal relationships eventually began, and a student exchange program was initiated.
