McNab, Ponto are recognized on Big South All-Conference softball team

Two Worthington High School softball players have received all-conference honors for the just-completed season.


Seniors Hannah McNab and Bailey Ponto were both named to the 2025 Big South Conference Softball Black All-Conference team, which is comprised of student-athletes from the conference's larger schools. New Ulm had five of its players also make the team. Tri-City United was represented by four players, and Belle Plaine and St. Peter had three players each on the team. St. Peter also had three honorable mention picks, Tri-City United two and Waseca two.


The Gold All-Conference team, meanwhile, included five first-team selections from Jackson County Central High School. Senior Lauren Johnson, juniors Hadley Wachal and Bailey Finck, sophomore Mady Wachal and eighth-grader Kinley VanDeVere were all chosen. Huskies freshman Brielle Tufvesson was an honorable mention pick.


Among those also on the first team were seniors Ella Reisdorfer and Payton Behr and junior Jocelyn Altman of Luverne, and senior Charlee Huska and junior Anja Nielsen of Windom. Senior Elliot O'Donnell of the Eagles was an honorable mention pick, as was Allie Kracht of Luverne.


Fairmont, Pipestone and St. James had two athletes each make the first team. St. James also had two additional players on the honorable mention list.
