Martinez advances to state speech meet for Worthington High School

The Worthington High School speech team competed in the Section 2AA meet on Saturday.
The top three speakers in each category earned a trip to the State Speech Meet. The Trojans' speech team had three competitors advance to the final round at sectionals — MacKenzie Platt in Poetry, and Gisel Martinez and Alondra Palma Zargoza in Prose.
Martinez placed third and advanced to the state meet, which will take place on April 26. Platt and Zargoza both placed sixth.
