Mankato man hurt in crash involving motor vehicle, 3 semi tractor-trailers

One person was injured Friday afternoon in Cottonwood County when a motor vehicle and three semi tractor-trailers collided in snow/ice conditions.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Peterson Alexandre, 36, of Mankato was eastbound on Minnesota 60. Three semi tractor-trailers were also eastbound: a 1996 Peterbilt Semi Tractor operated by Riley Joe Messner, 28, of Big Lake; a 2025 Volvo Tractor Trailer operated by Jason Andrews, 46, of Brunswick, Ohio; and a 2023 Freightliner Semi Tractor operated by Oliver Alexis Acosta, 31, of Eau Claire, Wis. All four vehicles collided on Minnesota 60 at milepost 47 in Lakeside Township. The crash was reported at 12:44 p.m. Friday.


Alexandre was transported to Windom Area Health with non-life-threatening injuries. The Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office, the Windom Police and Fire Departments and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.

One person was hurt in a one-vehicle crash Friday morning on Minnesota 60.


The State Patrol reported that a 2003 Toyota Rav 4 operated by Alem G Geberemadehen, 48, of Worthington, was eastbound on Minnesota 60 in snow/ice conditions and rolled into the median. The crash was reported at 7:09 a.m. in Jackson County's Alba Township.


Geberemadehen was transported to Sanford Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Heron Lake Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Four individuals were injured Sunday morning in a crash on Minnesota 60 in Jackson County.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2008 Honda Civic operated by Jonah William Nauman, 18, of Windom, was crossing Minnesota 60 on 470th Street, and a 2013 Ford Flex operated by Melingko Dullas, 45, of Windom, was westbound on Minnesota 60 in snow/ice conditions. The Civic slid through the intersection, and both vehicles collided on the highway. The crash was reported at 11:16 a.m. Sunday at milepost 39 in Delafield Township.


Both Nauman and Dullas, as well as two passengers in the Flex -- Deurme Chopwa, 47, of Windom, and Aski G. Willy, 51, of Windom, were transported to Windom Area Health with non-life-threatening injuries. The Jackson and Cottonwood County Sheriff's Offices, as well as the Windom Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance, assisted at the scene.
