A Spirit Lake man is facing charges of attempted murder and first-degree theft in connection with an incident Sunday in Montgomery, Iowa.
Caleb Crosby was taken into custody Sunday evening following a search by authorities. He was reportedly apprehended in Osceola County.
According to a criminal complaint, the attempted murder charge stems from an incident alleged to have taken place around 5:18 pm Sunday at 1421 193rd Ave., Montgomery. Crosby is also accused of stealing a 2020 GMC Sierra pickup from the same address in Montgomery a little after 6:30 pm Sunday.
Crosby is being held in the Dickinson County Jail Online court records show he was arrested just last month on charges of second-degree theft and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent. He was also arrested in March at the scene of a Montgomery fire in Montgomery after he allegedly refused to follow orders of firefighters. Multiple charges that included possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were filed.
