The Worthington Community Football Club Los Toros remained undefeated over the weekend, though it didn't come away with a victory.
Los Toros played a tough match on the road Sunday against the Capital City Roots FC, settling for a scoreless draw in Des Moines. While the WCFC didn't get a win, its defense kept an opponent off the scoreboard for the third time in three matches this spring.
Now 2-0-1 in 2026, Los Toros will play home matches on back-to-back nights this weekend. They'll take on the CB Captains FC at 7 p.m. Friday and then meet the Reapers FC at 7 p.m. Saturday. Both matches will take place at Trojan Field.

The Worthington Cubs amateur baseball team had been slated to open their 2026 season on Sunday against Renner, S.D., but that game was postponed due to Renner not being able to field enough players.
The Cubs' season-opener remains right around the corner, however. Worthington will travel to play at Heron Lake at 2 p.m. this Sunday to begin the year.

Monday's wet weather meant a postponement for Worthington High School's boys and golf teams, who had been scheduled to compete in Big South meets at Tri-City United and St. Peter, respectively. Both of those events have now been rescheduled for Thursday.
