Worthington City Administrator Steve Robinson announced Tuesday night that Larry Janssen submitted his resignation from the City Council on Monday, citing professional and personal reasons. The resignation is effective immediately.
The City Council will declare a vacancy at its next meeting, which is scheduled for June 9. There is less than two years remaining in Janssen’s term, and as a result the council has the authority to appoint a successor to fill the term rather than call for a special election
Janssen, who represents Ward 1, was elected to his first four-year term on the council in 2014. He was then re-elected in 2018 and 2022.
