Lady Jay volleyball players honored as All-Americans

Two members of the Minnesota West Lady Jays volleyball team have earned All-American recognition.

Sadie Krahling, a sophomore outside hitter and Adrian High School graduate, was named to the NJCAA Division 3 All-American First Team. Her statistics this season included 434 kills, 344 digs, 54 ace serves and 38 blocks.

Kate Slettum, a sophomore setter and Murray County Central High School graduate, was named as a third-team All-American. Slettum compiled exactly 1,300 set assists on the season while also contributing 348 digs, 133 kills, 87 ace serves and 34 blocks.

Krahling and Slettum helped lead Minnesota West to s second straight national tournament this past season. The Lady Jays placed fifth at nationals and wound up 38-5 overall on the year.

Multiple high school sporting events scheduled for Tuesday night were postponed due to forecasted winter weather.

The Worthington Trojans boys basketball team's home game against Marshall was rescheduled to Thursday night. The Trojan girls team, meanwhile, were to play at Marshall on Tuesday; it will now travel there next Monday.

The WHS boys hockey game that had been slated to be played Tuesday at Redwood Valley has been rescheduled to Friday, Jan. 2. The Trojans' wrestling dual at Windom, meanwhile, was rescheduled to Tuesday, Jan. 6. The home Trojans' gymnastics meet against Windom is now set to take place on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
