Jackson County Central will play for third place Thursday in the Minnesota Class AA softball tournament following a 2-1 semifinals loss to Visitation on Wednesday.
The second-seeded Huskies will meet St. Cloud Cathedral at 1 p.m. at Caswell Park in North Mankato.
Visitation scored a run thanks to a bloop RBI single with two outs in the top of the first inning and later tacked on another run in the fourth, wasting a chance to add on more by leaving two runners in scoring position. JCC then left runners on second and third in the bottom of the inning following a Cora Pauling double and a walk.
The Huskies got on the board in the sixth when Bailey Finck tripled and came home on Brielle Tufvesson's squeeze bunt. The sixth-seeded Blazers stranded two more runs in scoring position in the seventh but then shut down the Huskies in the bottom of the frame to end things.
