Visiting Jackson County Central swept a girls-boys basketball doubleheader from Worthington on Monday night, first winning the girls game 77-36 and then the boys matchup 73-55.
Weston Rowe led JCC in scoring with 17 points as four Huskies wound up with double-figure points. Blaise Rowe had 16 points, Carter Buhl 12 and Sullivan Hall 11 for JCC, which improved to 5-2 overall.
Ahead 12-10 early in the first half, the Huskies went on 12-0 run and later led by as many as 17 before a Treyson Meinders 3-pointer shortly before halftime made it 37-23 at the break. Worthington, which is now 1-6, got within eight of the lead when a Tetlouch Gach bucket put the score at 39-31, but JCC tallied the next 10 points after that.
Isaiah Schroeder had 19 points to lead the Trojans, while Meinders contributed 11 and Gach nine.
In the girls game, Paula Dysktra's hoop made it a 2-2 game in the opening moments, but JCC scored 18 of the next 19 points and wasn't threatened from there. The Huskies, who had a 52-16 advantage at halftime, were paced by Madyson Wachal's 20 points. Kinley VanDeVere added 18 points, Zadi Farmer 17 and Madelyn Rowe 16 for JCC, now 3-8.
