Housing survey available in Osceola County communities

Residents of and people who work in the Iowa communities of Ashton, Ocheyedan and Sibley are encouraged to provide input for future housing development by participating in an online housing survey.

Those three cities are participating in Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s Rural Housing Readiness Assessment (RHRA) program through a grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Local input collected via the survey will be used by each city’s RHRA committee members as they create a vision and action plan for future housing development in the community.

The RHRA process is being facilitated by ISU Extension and Outreach community and economic development staff. Responses to the anonymous online surveys cannot be traced back to the respondent.

The surveys are available online through the ISU Extension website. Anyone who prefers to use a paper survey may pick one up at the ISU Extension and Outreach Osceola County office, and either mail it back to the office at 121 Ninth St., Suite. B, Sibley 51249, or drop it off at the office in a sealed envelope. Deadline for completion of the survey is April 12.

Contact ISU Extension and Outreach Community Development Specialist Jane Nolan Goeken at (712) 240-2504 or jngoeken@iastate.edu for more information about the survey or the Rural Housing Readiness Assessment process.
