A fundraiser for Nobles County Sheriff's Office Deputy Logan Waldner is scheduled for Oct. 19.
The fundraiser will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Trail's Edge in Currie. There will be a free-will donation for chili and soup.
Raffle tickets will be sold for three prizes. First prize is a 54-quart cooler filled with meat (Waygu beef and Berkshire pork). Second prize is a smaller hard-side cooler filled with Waygu beef and Berkshire pork, and third prize is a soft-side cooler filled with Deanna's baked goods.
Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Donations for the Waldner family are also being taken at Trail's Edge; the address is 3 State Park Road, Currie 56123.
Waldner was struck by a vehicle while working an accident scene in April on Interstate 90. He suffered traumatic brain injuries and has been hospitalized since that time. Waldner is married to his wife, Amber; they have two young children.
