The City of Fulda has retested two homes that exceeded the action level for lead earlier this month.
Between Sept. 1-30, 10 samples were taken and analyzed for lead. The results of two of those samples exceeded the action level.
Results of the retesting show that both homes were well under the maximum parts-per-billion levels. The City of Fulda is in the process of testing its three active wells. In addition, it will sample 20 homes between January and June of 2026.
The city will continue to further investigate the reason behind the elevated lead results. Lead can cause serious health problems, especially for pregnant women and young children. The lead action level is a measure of the effectiveness of the corrosion control treatment in water systems.
