District 21B Rep. Marj Fogelman has issued a press release stating that thousands of people each year have money being held for them by Minnesota’s government.
Fogelman, a Fulda Republican, is urging residents to determine if they are on the list. She said in the release: “The state might be hanging on to it for you, but make no mistake -- if you type in your name and see there is money available, it's yours. Everyone should visit the unclaimed property website and determine if there is money that belongs to them.”
The Unclaimed Property Division within the Department of Commerce reunites owners with their lost or misplaced property, including money in bank accounts, wages, insurance benefits, stock dividends and other funds that remain unclaimed for three years or more.
