First State Bank Southwest part of $280K gift to local organizations

Thanks to a three-to-one match, a total of $280,000 was recently donated to non-profits and schools in southwest Minnesota.

First State Bank Southwest gave $70,000 and Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, which selected Minnesota as this year's recipient of its Impact Fund, gave $210,000 thanks to the three-to-one match.

Receiving financial gifts as part of the donations were:

• Helping Hand Pregnancy Center, Worthington, $10,000.

• Love Inc., Worthington, $10,000.

• Pipestone Community Center through the Southwest Initiative Foundation, $40,000.

• Southwest Christian High School, Edgerton, $80,000.

• Worthington Christian School, $80,000.

• Worthington Area YMCA's Strong Community Campaign, $20,000.

• Worthington Area Youth Baseball Association, $40,000.
