Firearms safety class to be hosted in August in Worthington

A Firearms Safety Classroom Class is scheduled to take place in August in Worthington.

Class dates and times are as follows: 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3; 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5; 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 10; 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 12; 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 13; and a field day from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 15.

The instructor for the class will be Pat Shorter. Students must pre-register by contacting Shorter at (507) 329-3438 or emailing oxfordext@gmail.com. The following information should be provided when registering: the student's full name, age, and parent/guardian name and contact information.

Students must be 11 years of age before the class start date lto be eligible to take this class. A parent/guardian is required to attend the first part of class (approximately 30 mins) to complete paperwork. Students must attend all classroom sessions and pass the final exam. When complete, the students will participate in the field day.

Students and a parent/guardian must attend the first class, which begins at 6 p.m. Monday at the Worthington Fire Hall, located at 830 Second Ave.
