FEMA application for individual assistance is now online

The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s application for individual disaster assistance has gone live. The application is available for people who experienced damage caused by the severe weather and flooding in late June.

Applicants will be asked to fill out a survey about their damages. Participants will then need to create an account or sign in to Login.gov. Once signed in, they will be returned to the original website to finish their application process.

FEMA may be able to help individuals with home repairs, temporary housing or property damage (including appliances, furniture, vehicle, etc). They may also qualify for help with child care, medical, lodging, moving and funeral expenses.

It’s OK if applicants don’t have all the details for your application now. After creating an account, one can save your progress and come back to finish it later.

To begin the application process, visit: https://www.disasterassistance.gov/.
