Federated's Operation Round Up deadline is Sept. 12

The deadline is coming up for local organizations to apply for Federated Rural Electric’s Operation Round Up funds. Applications must be submitted by Sept. 12.
Operation Round Up allows Federated members to round up their monthly electric bills to the next dollar, with the extra change going into a trust fund. A board made up of Federated members reviews requests and awards grants. Since the program began in 1995, more than $1 million has been distributed to support projects such as senior dining, hospice, fire and ambulance departments, scholarships and more. Organizations serving Jackson and Martin counties can apply for funding in areas like community service, youth education, disaster relief and energy assistance.
