Federated awards nearly $20K via latest Operation Round Up

The Federated Rural Electric Trust, Jackson, recently recognized local organizations receiving $19,939 through Operation Round Up.
These donations occur due to monthly contributions by participating Federated members. With the April donations, Federated’s Operation Round Up program marked the $1 million milestone with total funds distributed in the program's history.
Twenty-five groups received money in this 61st round of funding. They include:
Heritage Acres, Fairmont; Martin County West Early Childhood screening; Jackson County Central chemistry class; Cardinal Power Fastpitch; Huskies Baseball 10U; Red Rock Center for the Arts, Fairmont; Fairmont Area Human Rights Organization; Martin County West School District; Rhythm of the River, Jackson; Truman Public Schools Community Education; JCC Post Prom; Youth First/Fairmont Post Prom; Kinship of Martin County; Lakefield Fire & Rescue; Heron Lake-Okabena Elementary School Library; Jackson County Library System; Bergen Ball Park; Martin County West Community Ed & Recreation; Martin County West Early Childhood Family Ed; SWWC Foundation for Innovation in Education, Marshall; Jackson County Conservation League; Rebuilding Together Minnesota; JCC Health Office; Fairmont Opera House; and the Sheldon Johnson Outreach Center, Jackson.
The Trust Board received 30 applications totaling $45,447 in this 61st round of funding. It will meet again in the fall to determine the next round of funding. The deadline for submitting applications is Sept. 12.
In addition, $700 was awarded to Minnesota West Community & Technical College, Jackson, for a Jackson or Martin County student enrolled in the line worker or electrician program.
