Federated Rural Electric will host its 90th Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
The meeting is conducted at the Martin County Fairgrounds’s Arena, Fairmont.
People should park in the fairgrounds parking lot. Federated will have two golf carts to help transfer people from the parking area to the arena. The annual meeting will feature Dueling Pianos, a pancake sausage supper and $90 electric bill credits.
During meeting registration from 4:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., members can enjoy the pancake supper served by the Sherburn Lions and visit booths that include Heartland Security, Carr’s Tree Service, Federated Broadband, Federated’s booth, CTV antenna installer Brandt Berkner and Great River Energy’s booth on the 765 kV transmission line. Rock It Man Entertainment will perform between 4:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., and Federated members will learn about the cooperative's highlights for the year. Members will also elect three directors for the Board and two members to serve on the nominating committee. The director candidate running unopposed for District Two with a one-year term remaining due to a retirement is Troy Post, Brewster. Directors running unopposed for four-year terms are: David Meschke, Welcome, for District Four and Bruce Brockmann, Granada, for District Five.

Members received mailed ballots for these candidates around July 1 and could vote and mail back their ballots by August 1 to be eligible for seven $90 electric bill credits. Otherwise, members can also vote in person before the annual meeting starts Aug. 5. Following the Annual Meeting seven more $90 electric bill credits will be awarded to members in attendance.
