Dragons, Generals each pick up first wins of 2026 football season
Charger Erlandson ran for four touchdowns from the quarterback spot and Jackson Jenniges rushed for three more scores Friday night as visiting Adrian-Ellsworth routed Westbrook-Walnut Grove 48-6.
Erlandson had short TD runs of two and one yard as the Dragons, who improved to 1-2, broke out on top 14-0. Junior Tucker Krick combined with Owen Lor on an 87-yard TD pass 33 seconds into quarter number two as the Chargers cut the deficit to 14-6. Jenniges scored on a 12-yard run less than two minutes later, and Erlandson later sprinted for a 49-yard TD and added six more points on a three-yard run as A-E took a 35-6 lead into halftime.
Jenniges added TD runs of one and four yards in the second half to complete the win. The Dragons next play unbeaten Edgerton this Friday in their homecoming game.

Unbeaten and top-ranked Hills-Beaver Creek led 14-0 at the half and went to blank previously undefeated Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda 22-0.
Though the visiting Coyotes' offense was shut down, multiple players had big nights defensively. Mason Kirchner accumulated 16 total tackles for HL-O/F. Teammates Kaston Clarke and Albert Vega had 14 and 11 tackles, respectively, and Thaddeus Bray and Bennett Runkle contributed 10 apiece.
The Coyotes host Red Rock Central this coming Friday in Fulda.

Sibley-Ocheyedan won its first game of the season on Friday as the Generals took down South O'Brien 27-9 in Paullina, Iowa. S-O will play its next game this coming Friday at MMCRU

The Minnesota West women's volleyball team dropped two of three matches over the weekend in Rochester.
On Friday night, the Lady Jays — ranked sixth in NJCAA Division 3 volleyball — were defeated at No. 5 Rochester by game scores of 28-26, 25-17, 25-19. On Saturday, Minnesota West won 3-0 over Ellsworth Community College and then were edged 3-1 by Division 2 North Iowa Community College. The Lady Jays lost the final two games 26-24 and 25-23.

On Friday night, the Worthington High volleyball team traveled to Belle Plaine for a match originally scheduled for Thursday and was defeated 3-0 by game scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-17.
The Trojans, now 9-7 this season, had team leaders of Ava Schutz with six kills and Mia McNab and Kamryn Olson with an ace serve each with no errors. McNab and Rylee Olson combined for 16 set assists, and Kamyrn Olson finished with 26 digs.
WHS next plays Tuesday at Waseca.
