Worthington Independent School District 518 is closing schools and halting activities for three days, a press release issued Thursday morning by the district stated.
The release reads:
"Due to the rapidly increasing illness numbers in both students and staff in District 518, we will be closing schools and activities on Friday, January 7, Monday, January 10, and Tuesday, January 11.
"There will not be in-person classes or distance learning, nor sports/activities held those days as well. Attendance will not be taken, and these dates may be made up at a later date yet to be determined.
"We will be monitoring numbers and will evaluate on Monday. Additional messages will be sent out via our Shout-Point system, webpage, and Facebook."
