Crash involving school bus injures two on Wednesday

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision involving a school bus on Wednesday in Lyon County, Minnesota.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2018 Bluebird school bus operated by Brian Ray Obe, 69, of Minneota was northbound on 5 p.m. news Lyon County 5 and a 2016 Chevy Equinox operated by Paulette June Meester, 57, of Minneota was westbound on Minnesota 19 when the vehicles collided in the intersection. The crash was reported at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday.


Meester sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. Obe was unhurt. A juvenile passenger on the bus sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. 


Assistance was provided by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and North Ambulance.
