Crash in Mountain Lake area results in injuries to two people

Two people were injured in a crash between two pickups Sunday afternoon in Cottonwood County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 operated by Richard Dennis Peterson, 82, of Mountain Lake was eastbound on Minnesota 60 and a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Dominic Gemelli, 66, of Canton, S.D. was southbound on Cottonwood County 1 when the vehicles collided in the intersection. The crash took place at 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

Peterson and Gemelli both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Windom Area Health. The Mountain Lake Fire and Police departments and Ambulance, the Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.

A Fairmont woman was injured Friday in a collision with a dump truck.

The State Patrol reported that a 2016 Kenworth dump truck operated by Travis Arvid Bowman, 52, of Waterville was northbound on Minnesota 15, and a 2015 Ford Expedition operated by Michelle Danielle Fraser, 35, of Fairmont was northbound when the vehicles collided near its intersection with Interstate 90. The crash was reported at 7:43 a.m. Friday.

Fraser was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont with a non-life-threatening injury; Bowman was unhurt. The Fairmont Police and Fire departments and the Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.
