Collision involving five vehicles results in life-threatening injuries

A Yuma, Arizona man sustained life-threatening injuries Tuesday as a result of a five-vehicle late-afternoon crash in Fairmont.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, all of the vehicles were northbound in wet conditions on Minnesota 15 at Torgerson Drive when they collided. A 2018 Cadillac XT5 SUV operated by Paul Hugert Moklebust, 91, of Yuma, was one of the vehicles involved in the crash. The other vehicles involved were: a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Kelly Jean Perkins, 47, of Fairmont; a 2016 Nissan Altima operated by Rayanna Nicole Mcroberts, 26, of Cosmos; a 2008 Cadillac CTS driven by a 16-year-old female from St. Paul; and a 2008 Chevrolet Impala operated by Caitlin Elizabeth Jordan, 20, of Trimont.
A total of nine people occupied the five vehicles in the collision. Moklebust was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont with his life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol reported that he had been consuming alcohol. Also transported to Mayo in Fairmont was Kayla Lynn Sybrant, 41, of St. Paul, a passenger in the Cadillac CTS, with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash was reported at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday. The Martin County Sheriff's Office, Fairmont Police and Fire Departments and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.
