Boil advisory is in effect for some Sibley residents

A broken water main has resulted in the issuance of a boil advisory for some Sibley residents.

City officials say the precautionary measure stems from repairs that were made Monday to a broken water main in the area of Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street in Sibley. The boil advisory is for residents who live in that area. Officials say there’s a potential the distribution system in the area of the break may have been contaminated while there was little to no pressure in that part of the system.

City officials say they expect the advisory will be lifted by the end of the week. Bottled water will be available for pick-up tonight (Tuesday) at the fire station from 4 to 7 p.m.
