The Minnesota West wrestling team hosted its lone home dual of the season Friday night against Iowa Lakes Community College. The Bluejays got wins by fall from Ian Johnson at 157 pounds and Joseph Kallevig at 165, and Taten Shroyer also collected a forfeit at 184. but the Bluejays fell to the Lakers 37-18. Minnesota West also hosted Youth Wrestling Appreciation Night at the meet.
On Sunday, the Bluejays traveled to Sioux Falls for a tri-dual between the University of Sioux Falls and Dakota Wesleyan University. Minnesota West wrestled USF in the first dual of the day, with Ethan Meyer collecting a forfeit at 133 and Kallevig achieving a win by fall at 165. The Bluejays fell to the Cougars 42-12. In the second dual of the day, Kallevig was a winner by fall at 165, and Shroyer collected a forfeit at 184 as the Bluejays fell to the Tigers 46-12.
Minnesota West will return to action Jan. 7 as it travels to Thief River Falls for the Conference Dual Championship hosted by Northland Community and Technical College.

In youth hockey this past weekend, the Worthington Squirts team earned a first-place finish in the Collins Cup in Mason City, Iowa. Additionally, Worthington's 10U girls team finished in second place in a tournament in Fairmont.

Hills-Beaver Creek defensive end Beau Bakken has been named to the 9-Man All-State Football Team. His Patriots teammate, defensive end Riley Tatge, is an All-State honorable mention.
