The Minnesota West men's soccer team will begin its season next week when it plays on the road Thursday, Aug. 21 at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
The Bluejays, coached by Jordan Balster, went 5-8-1 in 2024, including 4-3-1 in conference play. Following their season opener in Storm Lake, Minnesota West will play at home twice the following week, as it hosts the Northwestern College junior varsity at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 and Alexandria Technical & Community College at 4 p.m. Aug. 30.
The Bluejays are currently scheduled to play five matches in September — all of them on the road. Those include: Iowa Central Community College on the 3rd; Western Iowa Tech on the 10th; the Northwestern JV on the 12th; Riverland on the 17th; and Anoka-Ramsey on the 23rd.
Minnesota West will finally be back at home for a 6 p.m. Oct. 1 showdown against Riverland. It will play at Alexandria on Oct. 4, but then host Dakota County Technical College at 6 p.m. Oct. 10 and entertain Anoka-Ramsey at 6 p.m. Oct. 15. The Bluejays end their regular season with an Aug. 20 match at the Dordt University JV.
Should Minnesota West qualify for the national tournament for the first time, that will be Nov. 11-16 in Herkimer, N.Y.
