August weather slightly cooler, drier than the average

Worthington's August weather included high temperatures a tad cooler than average and precipitation that was slightly less than average, according to data compiled at Worthington's Wastewater Treatment Plant.


The average high this past month was 78.4 degrees, which is exactly one degree below the August normal of 79.4. The average low was 57.9 degrees, which is a mere .1 degree above average.


The warmest temperature of the month was recorded at 85 degrees, which came on Aug. 9th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 20th.  The coolest thermometer reading of the month was 43 degrees, which came on the 26th. There were lows of 44 degrees on both the 25th and 27th.


Worthington picked up 2.98 inches of precipitation during the past month, which amounts to .87 inches of rain less than the 3.85 inches that's typical here for August. A majority of the month's rain came on Aug. 6 

ree

with a total of 2.47 inches.


So far in 2025, Worthington has received 22.57 inches of rainfall. The average here for the first eight months of a year is 22.78 inches.


The average high for the first eight months of 2025 is 59.0 degrees, compared to the average of 56.6. The average low for this year thus far is 36.6 degrees, compared to 36.3.
