Arts council awards funds to four area organizations

The Southwestern Minnesota Arts Council board recently awarded $126,250 in grant funds to 16 organizations, $6,500 to two schools and $2,990 to three individual artists.

Among the organizations receive funding were: The Calumet Players of Pipestone, which was awarded $10,000 for their June 2026 production of "The Wizard of Oz"; Jackson County Center for the Arts, $8,394 for a concert series running from February through October 2026, to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of their organization; Prairie Arts Continuum of Windom, $5,500 for their community theatre production of the musical "Mamma Mia!" in April 2026; and Worthington Area Symphony Orchestra, $8,000 for their May 2026 concert, "Celebrate America," presenting both new and iconic works by American composers.
