Annual grocery dash event set to take place Oct. 27 at Fareway

Tickets are now on sale for the Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Worthington's 10th annual Kiwanis Grocery Dash.

Club members will be at Worthington's Fareway selling tickets on Oct. 9-11 and Oct. 16-18. They'll be there from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 9-10 and 16-17; they'll be there from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 11th and 18th.

Winners will be drawn during the Oct. 23 Early Risers Kiwanis meeting. The Grocery Dash is scheduled for 8 p.m. Oct. 27 at Fareway.

First prize is a two-minute shopping spree at Fareway, with a total value in groceries up to $1,150 or $350 cash. Second place is a $200 Fareway gift card; third place is a $100 Fareway gift card and fourth place is a $50 gift card. There will also be three tickets drawn to participate in placing two items back in their proper place on the store shelf in the shortest time.

There is a limit of 1,000 tickets available for purchase. Tickets are $10 each. Individuals must be age 18 or older to participate in the dash. All proceeds benefit Early Risers Kiwanis Club to sponsor youth and community programs.
