Amateur baseball playoffs begin this weekend on Saturday and Sunday

The brackets are out for the Minnesota Baseball Association Class C State Tournament, which begins this weekend.

Windom captured the Region 10C championship with a two-game series sweep of Fairmont last weekend and has an overall record of 23-3 this season. The Pirates, who've now won the regional title the past two years, will begin play at state at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with a matchup against the Region 1 Clearwater River Cats in Shakopee.

Fairmont, meanwhile, is the second Region 10 team in the state tourney and currently has a record of 15-8. The Martins, who captured the Minnesota Class C title in 2020, will meet the Quamba Cubs, also out of Region 1, at 4 p.m. Saturday in Shakopee.

As for the third Region 10 team at state, Luverne earned that honor by rallying from a 1-game-to-none deficit to defeat Jackson this past weekend and earn that final berth. The Redbirds, whose 2026 record is 17-10, will play against the Region 3 Dumont Saints at 11 a.m. Sunday in New Prague.

Winners of this weekend's games will play again either next Friday, Saturday or Sunday in Jordan or New Prague. The state tournament continues through Sept. 6.
