The latest U.S. Drought Monitor shows nearly all of southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa in at least moderate drought.
All of Pipestone County, most of Murray County and a small portion of Rock County are part of about 20% of the state of Minnesota under severe drought. Nobles, Jackson and Cottonwood counties are all experiencing moderate drought conditions. Around 97% of the state is dealing with at least abnormally dry conditions.
Most of Iowa also has at least abnormally dry conditions, except for a small part of southern Iowa. Osceola, Dickinson and Lyon counties are all under moderate drought.
