Adrian's Harrington earns 'Volunteer of the Year' recognition

In observance of National Volunteer Month in April, the Young Marines has named Dan Harrington of Adrian as Young Marines Division 3 Adult Volunteer of the Year. Harrington is the Unit Commander of the Buffalo Ridge Young Marines in Worthington.

Harrington will now represent Division 3 in competition with five other division winners for the title of Young Marines National Adult Volunteer of the Year. The honor will be recognized at the Young Marines 2025 Adult Leaders Conference this month in Dallas, Texas.

The Young Marines is a non-profit youth education and service program for youths ages 8 to 18, promoting the mental, moral and physical development of its youth members. The program is focused on teaching the values of leadership, teamwork and self-discipline.

For six years, Harrington has served the Buffalo Ridge Young Marines as an adult volunteer. He is also the Midwest Regiment commanding officer and served in both the Army Reserves and the U.S. Marine Corps on active duty.
