WORTHINGTON – The Worthington Regional Healthcare Foundation this week handed over a check for $10,000 to help people manage their medications.
A project at Sterling Drug is available to help with sorting and managing meds – a process that can be overwhelming and confusing, especially to people who suffer from memory issues.
A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota was happy to jump on board, since so many who struggle with med management are seniors.
The program sorts the medications into blister packs for days of the week and even time of day. This can prevent accidental overdoses and be a reminder for any missed medications.
There is a cost to the program, but the grant from the healthcare foundation defrays the cost for those who need assistance.
