Worthington woman dead after fatal crash Thursday

WORTHINGTON – A Worthington woman died Thursday afternoon as the result of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of West Oxford Street and Fairway Lane in Worthington.

According to the Worthington Police Department, authorities were called at 4:49 p.m. A 2007 Ford Expedition driven by a 31-year-old female from Omaha, Nebraska was traveling east on West Oxford and was stopped in the eastbound lane yielding to westbound traffic to make a left turn onto Fairway Lane. A 2017 Kia Forte, driven by a 45-year-old Worthington woman, struck the rear end of the Ford.


The driver of the Kia later died of her injuries. The occupants of the Ford received no injuries.

Assisting at the scene was Worthington Fire/Rescue, the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office and Sanford Ambulance.
