A Worthington woman has been arrested following an investigation of a Saturday crash in Osceola County, Iowa.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 2011 Ford Focus operated by Sara Gebrehiwot, 25, of Worthington was northbound on Northwest Boulevard south of Iowa 9 when the vehicle crossed the center line and traveled onto the southbound shoulder for about 500 feet. The vehicle then went into the ditch and collided with a culvert, The crash took place at 6:57 p.m. Saturday,
Gebrehiwot has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence, second offense, and possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, first offense. She was also cited for driving with a suspended license, open container and failure to maintain control.
Gebrehiwot, who was uninjured in the crash, was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $2,000 bond. She was also being held on a valid Osceola County warrant for failure to serve her jail time.
