Winter weather is in the forecast for Thursday along with high winds as the region works to get back on track from rain and ice Monday and Tuesday.
Measurements recorded at Worthington's Wastewater Treatment indicated .75 inches of new precipitation at 7 a.m. Tuesday and .39 inches of new moisture at 7 a.m. Wednesday. The two-day total 1.14 inches represents .26 inches of precipitation above the average total for all of December. Worthington has received 1.46 inches of precip so far this month.
Nobles Cooperative Electric reported problems Tuesday with a transmission line serving the Chandler substation and the town of Leota. The temporary outage affected 464 members.
Snow showers, meanwhile, were expected to begin developing late Wednesday night and continue into Thursday. Three to seven inches of snow is possible along with northwest winds averaging 25 to 35 mph.
