Two Westbrook women hurt in Sunday crash in Cottonwood County

Two people were hospitalized following a semi-vs.pickup crash early Sunday evening in Cottonwood County.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2011 International semi operated by J. Paul Mugabowindekwe, 39, of Secane, Pennsylvania was traveling northbound on U.S. 71 and a 2016 Dodge Ram operated by Bobbie Ernest Albricht, 34, of Westbrook was southbound on U.S. 71. The vehicles collided at the intersection with Cottonwood County 10 in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County, and was reported at 6:56 p.m.


Albricht was taken to North Memorial Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. A passenger in her vehicle, Amanda Rose Albrecht, 35, of Westbrook, was taken to Windom Area Health with a non-life-threatening injury. The driver of the semi was unhurt.


Assisting at the scene were Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, the Springfield Police Department and ambulance, Comfrey First Responders, Centra Care, and Jeffers and Sanborn Fire Department.
