Two honored as Friends of the International Festival

Jim Krapf and Paul McCarvel were each honored this weekend as Friends of the International Festival during the 28th annual event in downtown Worthington.

Krapf, who began moving with his wife, Cynthia, to Pensacola, Florida shortly before the start of this year’s festival, became a member of the International Festival committee in 2013. He was an integral part of immigrant conversations that took place on Thursday evenings of the festival. That tradition began with Krapf reading portions of the book “Letters of a German Immigrant Farmer” and follow with new Worthington immigrant share their respective stories.

McCarvel, who lives with his family in Tea, South Dakota, owns PM Music and has volunteered as the International Festival’s sound technician since 2008.
