Two dead following fatal crash near Walnut Grove

Two people died and another person sustained a non-life-threatening injury as a result of a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night on U.S. 14.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2002 Toyota Sienna operated by Maiyang Moua, 55, of Tracy was traveling south on Balsa Avenue while a 2005 Toyota Sequoia operated by Victor V. Leem 48, of Walnut Grove was traveling east on U.S. 14. The two vehicles collided in the intersection. The crash was reported at 8:29 p.m. Wednesday.

Moua and a passenger in the Sienna, Saibert Moua, 67, of Tracy, both died at the scene of the crash. The passenger was not wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol said.

Lee, meanwhile, was transported to Westbrook's hospital with a life-threatening injury. His passenger, Kia Xiong, 40, of Walnut Grove, was taken to Marshall's hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

The Redwood County Sheriff's Office, Walnut Grove Fire and Ambulance and the Tracy Ambulance assisted at the scene.
